November/December 2024 Philanthropy Update
Dear Friend,
As we approach Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the incredible commitment and generosity demonstrated by our dedicated financial donors throughout the year. On behalf of San Diego Blood Bank, I want to express our sincere gratitude for your unwavering support in advancing our life-saving mission. Your contributions have enabled us to positively impact the lives of nearly 450,000 patients in Southern California annually. Your generosity truly makes a difference!
I am excited to announce our Year-End Appeal, which aims to raise funds for our Bloodmobile Campaign. Donations made towards this campaign will directly support the acquisition of this essential vehicle, equipment, and supplies. Gifts made through December 31, 2024, will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000 by San Diego Self Storage and Managing Partner, Anthony R. Carr. I hope that you will take this opportunity to double your impact and help us to successfully complete the match by the year-end deadline.
I trust you will find this philanthropy update both informative and inspiring. For more details about our Year-End Campaign and SDBB’s specific needs, please contact me at cclector@sdbb.org or (619) 400-8214.
As we gather with loved ones to celebrate Thanksgiving, I extend my warmest wishes for a joyful and fulfilling holiday season.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Cherryl Castro-Lector

Corporate Partnership Opportunities
San Diego Blood Bank (SDBB) is grateful to our corporate partners who are passionate about saving and improving the lives of the patients we serve. They host blood drives, their employees volunteer and give blood, and they give financially to help support our greatest needs, such as bloodmobiles, lab equipment, blood collection supplies, and research.
Now through December 31, every dollar you donate will be matched — up to $100,000 — thanks to the incredible support of San Diego Self Storage and Managing Partner, Anthony R. Carr.
San Diego Blood Bank is raising $750,000 for the purchase of a new bloodmobile, which is essential in providing accessible and convenient blood donation opportunities throughout the entire Southern California region. Bloodmobiles help us meet the needs of our hospital partners by collecting more than 50% of our annual blood supply.
This is your moment to make a difference. By becoming a corporate sponsor, you can help us expand our reach, save more lives, and strengthen our community. Together, we can drive forward a future where no patient goes without the blood they need.
Step in. Stand out. Save lives. Join the Drive to Save Lives today.
San Diego Blood Bank recognizes our corporate partners throughout the year in various digital and print channels, on our donor center digital displays (in six of our donor centers), and on our bloodmobiles!
